Hello: Do you remember in 1949 our grades 9 and 10 started Fi-Pa-Hi! We were so proud (and scared)! Each following year they added another grade to Fisher, until we had 13 grades. We were the first school in Ottawa to have GREEN blackboards!!!! The lockers were not all installed and cement block walls not painted yet.
The board drew the boundaries for Fisher, from Glebe, Tech, Comm. and Nepean, and plunked us all on Holland Avenue. Then as a group we created everything from the school colours, cheers, year book.........to the Hi-Y Club, football, basketball teams, photo club, etc. etc. Our highest grade was 10 and our Head Boy & Girl had to attend meetings with the other school's, grade 13'Er's! We only had Junior sport teams for boys and girls the lst few years. At the football games the other schools jeered us!!!! But we held our heads high. This was heavy duty, a great challenge and lots of fun. Do you all remember when our boys got down on their hands and knees and steel wooled the entire hardwood floor of the boys and girls gym floor, in preparation for varnishing? My husband Ronnie remembers it well!
Sounds like it could be alot of fun. Hopefully we will all contact as many alumni as possible, to touch base once more. Gail.

Hi Gail,
Enjoyed the message you posted on the web site. Brought back lots of memories.
Hope you will be at the decade room on Friday evening between 7 & 9 when I expect to be there. Also noticed Bob Ripley's name on the registered list, so if you know how to contact him, please pass on the message.
I am retired (as we all must be by now) & living in Montreal. I will be coming up on Friday afternoon. My old friend Noel Sharp told me about the reunion - otherwise I would never have known. He & his wife are coming East (they live in Edmonton) for a few weeks holiday We will be attending a luncheon together on Saturday outside of Ottawa & then driving back to Montreal where they will be visiting with us for a few days.
My e-mail is jgfinca@sympatico.ca in case you want to get in touch

Hi Gail My name is Jim Oastler. I believe was at Fisher Park until 1958. I now live and work in Bright, Victoria, Australia. I thought Fisher Park was burned down and was very disappointed. Now knowing at least the data is available, I would like to know more about the period 1955-58.
Kind regards,
Jim Oastler jao1938@westnet.com.au

I have been unsuccessfully looking for a former Art teacher of mine at Fisher Park for years now. I was hoping someone reading this might be able to help me find him.
His name is Ron Campbell. He taught at Fisher Park in, (I believe), 1968-69. He was a local resident and attended Fisher Park along with his brother in the 1950's. Both were well-known sports stars at the school.
If anyone has any information that could help me contact him I would be grateful.
Regards, swilliams

PS I suppose it would be smart if I provided some personal contact information along with my request...(rolls eyes)
