Hi Gang.
I was at FPHS from 1969 to 1974. What a hoot to find this site and see some familiar names from the deep and distant past. Rolf Clack sent me the link, for which I'm grateful. Clack, thoroughly connected, as ever. He and his wife are in France now, I think.
Deb and I live in Philadelphia, PA, where we've been since 1984. Our 26-year old daugther, Julie, was married here on Sep 9 and is now Julie Jenkins. She and her husband, Leerie, live in Greensboro, NC. We have three border collies (Sprint, Ticker and Shiner) who lead lives of happiness and contentment.
I work in Washington, DC, as Chief Financial Officer for Sojourners/Call to Renewal, a Christian non-profit committed to peacemaking, overcoming poverty, and struggling for Social Justice. My shorthand for this is that I work for a Communist Christian Magazine. www.sojo.net.
After all these decades I'm still an Anglican, an active member of The Episcopal Church, USA. You can take the boy out of Canada, but you can't take the Canada out of the boy.
I reread the following novels every year: Moby thingy, Middlemarch, Pride and Prejudice and Possession (A.S. Byatt). I still do a great deal of choral singing, most of it in church.
I know the words to the FPHS school song. I also know the words to the alternative irreverent version composed, if memory serves, by the Gifted and Esteemed Hamish Buchanan. My daughter Julie, also knows the words to both versions. She prefers the alternative, because of it's quasi-dramaturgical subtextual referential nuances and stuff.
I plan to attend the reunion - looking forward to it!
See you there, I hope. Until then, best wishes.
Michael Norman
