Who remembers the really major band/choir trips of the early 70's - Vancouver and Europe??
Bring photos if you can - of these trips and any other trips, concerts, music classes, etc. I can only find about 2 pictures from Europe, but I know Lyndsay Hull has some. It'd be great to have photos scanned if possible so we can exchange them.
Some people already listed here someplace are Sharon-Gay and Delta Johnson, Deanna Harper, Kurt Ortner, Ed Fletcher, Nancy Arthur (who left one or two really enthusiastic messages, and sounds just the same).
I might have missed a few - there are lots of names in the guestbook. I'm sure lots of others will be there too.
Anyone want to suggest a meeting point?

Hi Rolf,
I remember the choir trips but they were only to Toronto. I graduated in 73 so missed the big one to Europe.
I was hoping to see Sandra Hilson's name on this site because we were in both choirs together from 69 to 73.

I remember the Europe and Vancouver band/choir trips but I'm not sure I still have my slides. Most of them were of seagulls anyway, so no big loss.
Thanks, Rolf, for this posting. Can't wait for your solo basoon recital at the Reunion - I know it will be terrific!

Wow. Thanks Stephanie for letting me know about this reunion. Rolf : I just happen to have a photo album of pictures from the Europe Trip and believe it or not, Michael Norman, you are in one of them. (A group shot on the plane). I'll make sure I bring the photos to the reunion. I have to confess that I had to get out my old year book and look up both Rolf and Michael to put faces to the names. I know your faces are probably a little different now. Sandra Douglas (nee: Hilson)

I can hardly believe it's been 30 something years since we've seen each other. I'm so excited about this reunion.

Charlie, Stephanie, Sandra ...
So good to hear from y'all. Looking forward to reviewing that group shot on the plane. One of many, I imagine.
Hope to see you in June.

Margot Lewis here. I have some old super 8 movies of the trip to England and Holland. I will try to get them transfered.

Hi Stephanie:
I actually sang in Col Canto and Cantabile. Margo Brown? was the accompaniest I think.
While I really miss the choir, I don't miss the uniforms. White corderoy, what were we thinking!

Very interesting to see so many familiar names. Annabelle (Peckham); played oboe for those who might not remember) and I (drummer) still live in Ottawa near Fisher Park and plan to be at the reunion. We will bring along what photos we have. Some pics of a bus trip to Galt Ontario, from the Europe trip, etc. One I recall is of Dennis Fletcher (drummer) with his underwear on his head (we're sure it was clean). Annabelle also has some pics from the band trip to Victoria. We'll dust off the albums and drag out the old slide projector and see what we can assemble.

Hi Margot,
I know what you mean! I do miss the choir though. Over the years I've belonged to various community choirs and ladies barbershop groups. How about you? Do you belong to any choirs?

Hi Margot,
I looked you up in the old year book and I do remember you. And.... it was Margo Phillips who was our pianist.

Hey, I suddenly remember I have a picture of someone with underware one their head, at the Pembridge Palace hotel in London. Remember that place? And the Grove Restuarant? Lord, I can't remember what I had for lunch, but I remember to greasy soup from the Grove. I definately remember Annabel and Mark!

Hey everyone -
Margo (Phillips) Hodgson here - this is so cool. I've got Dennis Fletcher, Pam Scobie, Guy Couture and Dave Arthur on board for the reunion. I'm thrilled to find this forum for the band, & choir, thanks to Rolf. I have plenty of pictures from the Galt, BC and Europe trips.
I lost contact with Mr D about 3 years ago when he stopped sending Christmas cards, but as far as I can tell, he has moved from Victoria, BC up to Qualicum Beach. Last time I saw him, he looked just the same. By now he would be at least 85. Mrs Oak passed away several years ago, but this winter I went to the wake for George Oak and it was nice to see their children after all these years as well as lots of old photos from "our" day.
Although I no longer play oboe and can barely even play the piano anymore, I credit my years in the FPHS music program with launching my career in music. I spent many years as a freelance musician with the Winnipeg Symphony, and for over 20 years now I've been an orchestra music librarian. I'm currently a member of the National Arts Centre Orchestra, preparing all of the music for the orchestra. No, we don't play Alla Barrocca - a particular favourite from my FPHS days - but it's a great job anyway. It's really nice to be back in Ottawa.
What is everyone else doing these days?
See you all soon.
Margo

I live in Mississauga, but hope to make it to the reunion. Looking forward to connecting with you there. Will we recognize each other??? Sandra Hilson
