Just to add to the singing theme.... Over the last 30some years I've been singing in: a Ladies Barbershop chorus, a competing barbershop quartet, and a community a capella chorus I sure hope all former Cantabile singers will be willing to put on a mini performance ... how about "They all call it Canada"? I'm assuming this will be accomplished with some liquid courage. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Stephanie

Peggy,
I hadn't remembered until you mentioned it. I have a memory like a sieve which I'm sure will cause me lots of embarassment when we all get together. That was good trio, though, as I recall - the only time I sang in a small ensemble group. You kept up a very active music life, by the sounds of it. I remember seeing Karen Oak at a Fisher reunion many years ago. She was one of the few people there whom I knew (or could remember, anyway).
Cheers, Helen

My brother is so....amusing. ;D but right - I just called him to confirm that I'm coming into town! I plan to register on Friday night. Lynn, Anne and Marilyn will be at the BBQ and maybe other times too. I have very fond memories of the trip to England and Holland and will bring my pictures. I would love to come to the Richardson's as well, but thought it was on Sunday afternoon. It looks like that has changed; however, if there is no curfew, I will try to stop by. I have been singing continuously since high school - thanks to Mrs. Oak's encouragement over the years. She was a very special lady. I have sung with church choirs, Cantata Singers, Opera Lyra, Savoy Society, and now perform with music theatre groups in Mississauga, where I have lived since 1994. I have a son, Robert, who is almost 13. David, Peggy and others - I look forward to seeing you again and hope we recognize each other! I'm still the shy, retiring person you remember... Susan

Susan -- I am so pleased you are coming up for the reunion. I'm working the reception desk on Friday evening and so hopefully will see you then. Bev Dowd speaks fondly of seeing you occasionally in Toronto but no longer has your contact info. You'll be seeing her and her partner Johan as well this weekend.
Greatly looking forward to seeing you (and so many others) this weekend.

Arthur's final entry...
Margo Phillips is monitoring the 1970s Decade Room on Friday from 7-8. She'll be doing this while she watches my old Fisher buddy Jim Rodger and I trash it. Drop by and help in the destruction, wontcha? Otherwise I'll be haunting the halls looking for victims.
Dave Beckett..."transectional"? I look forward to seeing that first hand.
Mark and Annabelle...Holy geez, company's comin', eh? Big company.
This forum has clearly shown that the bond between the music people is forever strong. Regardless of general incommunicado for so many years, the esprit and commeraderie is evident in your words here. I look forward to the upcoming personal contacts within our unique clique.
ESTO DIGNUS. That's Fisher's Latin motto. "We are worthy".

Dave A. -- you got it right. A heady combination of long hair and goatee can make any singer a 'transectional'!! See you this weekend.

Dave A and Margot - that's settled it then. I look forward to checking out our decade room Friday around 7 (before you trash it, Dave). Wally, I remember you and your booming bass voice! Thanks for coordinating stuff. I'll bring my photos along on Friday. David B - you are so sweet and I will definitely look for you tomorrow. It will be nice to see Bev again - we last saw each other December 2005, at a mutual friend's house. Overindulged on the vino but had a fantastic time (some things never change

THE DAY AFTER...
It's over. I'd usually add the word "finally" to that statement, but not this time.
Our bods were pumpin', our synapses were firin', our eyes were apoppin' and them funny bones got a real good work out.
The temptation here is to say something to each of you, but I'm feeling very lazy right now so I'll just stay in the 'all of us' zone.
How wonderful it was to see you during this whirlwind. I am very proud to be part of a group of such misfits. Actually, it fit pretty good dontcha think?
Annabelle and Mark, again, thank you.
A bunch of us got into Mrs. Oak's and Mr. D's lair on Sunday. That's right, the actual band and choir rooms. We were very well behaved and didn't alter the decor too much. It was an unforgettable few moments that tied up the weekend just right. There are lotsa pictures.
So now I'll put all of the new and ancient memorabilia back into the archives...and I'll hang the old band jacket up again in my clothes museum. This jacket now symbolizes more recent wonderful times with my music mates along with the "good old" ones.
I do hope to do something of this magnitude in the future. It's a good thing that Fisher's got the elevator and ramps, 'cause I think we'll be needin' them by then.
I shall always remember our happy three day romp together at Fisher in '07.
ESTO DIGNUS. Peace and love. Live long and prosper. Send me money.

What an absolutely fabulous experience! I haven't been able to concentrate at work today - I just keep thinking of the great fun we had over the weekend. So now it'll be: Were you on the BC trip? Did you go to Europe? and ... Did you go to the reunion?
Thanks to everyone for being there. As I told many of you, I moved back to Ottawa 4 years ago. Now, somehow, it all seems complete. You are one amazing group of friends. I have enough hugs now to last me until next time ...
Thank you, thank you, thank you to anyone and everyone who had any role in pulling it off.

And now a word from a former choir prez -- It was an amazing weekend. I can't believe it's over, as there were so many people I know were there whom I missed seeing. Luckily, a Sunday afternoon and dinner with former Fisherites and spouses (thank you Helen and Tom!!) brought out many stories of those people, so I know you're still around and loved and will be missed yet again until the next reunion in 2027 (anyone volunteer for planning it???).
A HUGE THANK YOU to the organizers of this past weekend!!! I can't begin to comprehend the logistics of it all and how brilliantly it all played out. No snafus, no long lines, just genuine warmth and affection from everyone involved and all the attendees.
I await the day when this stupid grin leaves my face so I can go out in public again without having to explain myself!!! Again, many thanks, many hugs, besos y abrazos.
David

It was soooo amazing! I keep reliving moments from the seventies and moments from the weekend over and over. I has so many questions about what happened so-and-so, and where is whats his face now. And there you all were. Loved seeing Dave and Margo in the uniforms, fantastic that they still fit. Special thanks to whatever janitorial staff threw out the choir gowns and the starch collars/ I have posted a bunch of photos on Flickr. Feel free to add yours, past or present, to the pool. Comments and annotations very welcome. www.flickr.com/groups/361177@N24/Or go to Flick.com and search for Fipahi

I must repeat the refrains of others and say that Annabelle and I also had a wonderful time and it was simply fabulous to see everyone again. Annabelle's head count during festivities pegs attendance at the party at between 55 and 60. The gods were in our favour with the wonderful weather to match a wonderful event.
We must acknowledge special thanks to Ginny Wood for all of her help around the house. She arrived early, helped set up, kept the kitchen mess in check and just made our lives so easy. Ginny, I don't know how you did it all or how to thank you.
We would ask that, from this day forward, that people not be shy. If you are from out of town and visiting Ottawa, give us a call. If you are in Ottawa and are in the neighborhood, knock on the door to say hi and have a cup of coffee. You all know where we live. I would hate to think that we would let another 33 years pass by without seeing you all again.
Love and best wishes to everyone.
Mark and Annabelle

Hi everyone;
I'm still on cloud nine, it was such a great weekend. The party was fantastic, and then the icing on the cake was the visit to the band and choir rooms on Sunday afternoon.
I for one do NOT want to wait another 35 years. I vote for setting up our own private band and choir forum and continuing the communication, and maybe having an annual get together. I assume that Mark and Annabelle amassed quite a list of e-addresses in their guest book, and I have many too, so perhaps I can get together with them soon and put our lists together and keep adding more people as we find them.
Take care everyone, and stay tuned to this forum for now. It was so great to re-connect with all of you.
Margo
