Hi Jackie - I don't remember you but like you said, I was ahead of you. The "fisher song" - how does that go? Didn't even know we had a "song".....you'll have to sing it to everyone at the reunion.....ha, ha....I too enjoyed Fisher a lot and kept in touch with a few close friends to this day. Hope to meet you and everyone else next year. Sounds so funny to say it .... next year.....considering I saw this site a few years ago. Should be a really good time and looking forward.

Oh, no, I don't believe it, and am reluctant to admit, but I do remember the words to the song. (tune too, such as it was)
they are:
For Fisher High, we do or die We're proud to sing her praises We're fit, we're trim, We're in the swim, Look out for Fisher High. Stand up and Fight For the scarlet and the white We're proud of the mark That is made by Fisher Park. Hey! Our teams are best They play with zest Our scholarship amazes So here's a toast To Ottawa's boast Three cheers for Fisher High. Hip hip hurray! hip hip hurray! hip hip hurray!
See you in 2007.

::)ok peggy and alison, you might intice me to get up with a big gang only.. then sing. i too remember the school song. Mr. Pettinger made us sing it every friday at assembly.. along with the lords prayer and anouncements... wow things have changed at school. My dad is a grad of 50's or around there and he still remembers the song and he is 70yrs old. it was written the first year he was at the school. he was one of the first grads there. kinda kewl huh? do you think we could get Paul Anka to come for the Reunion? someone needs to send him an \invite. He left for Glebe though in the late 50's then got famous.every one teased him at Fisher. unfortunatley I even met a a guy from the 60s grad year and we even sung it on a plane from troronto one night. kevin are you out there.?very quietly..shhhh.

Wow - I was never made to sing the song at assemblies - must have changed after my escape! Perhaps that's what the reunion opens with - instead of the national anthem, the FPHS song! I agree with the Paul Anka thing.....I think if anyone knows how to reach him they should! What I really want is a DATE for this thing! I can't plan my travel until I have a date.....anyone have any updates on this? During the 90's I bumped into Pete McDonald through my work - another Fisherite but don't know where he's at now. I'm sure there are others here but have had no contact with anyone. Hip deep in Oiler playoff hockey - hope to beat the Sharks in game 6 tonight then move on to those Ducks.....GO OILERS GO! Looking forward to seeing everyone next year. ;D

Hi All:
I started grade 9 at Fisher in September 1969. So I would have have finished grade 12 in 73 and grade 13 in 74. Except, of course for not finishing at all. I dropped out after grade 11 and ended up in the navy. So what class does that put me in?
I don't remember the school song at all. You guys must have prodigous memories.
Ed

;)I loved that song!!! This will be so cool to see how everyone looks like now and what they have been up to. I was at Fisher the same years as Alison. I remember dear old Mr. Ryckman. If it weren't for him, I would not have gotten through Grade 9. Of course, I would have never said that at the time...

well..to all of you interested: .I can not believe what I did today. I sent an e-mail to Paul Anka's production company and they replied with an answer, that they were going to send it to Paul Anka's office...we might just get him to the Reunion. If he is not some where else in the world.singing, he is still travelling the world on tour... After reading some of his interviews at his site. he still has fond memories of Ottawa... What do I do now if I get a reply...

Good going....I guess if a reply comes you could/should forward to Tim Welch who is heading up this site and the reunion. Has anyone heard the date of this thing? Keep getting messages from old high school mates but I don't see some of them on this site at all.....come on you guys....I know there are others out there I went to school with......happy days indeed, life was much simplier then....
