Grad ring - and its owner - found!

Someone has found and turned in a men's Belfour grad ring from 1986. It seems to have a garnet as the gem, with the Canadian Shield on one side, and what looks like an accounting symbol on the other. It is engraved with the name "John J.G. Smith".

Now we noticed that there was a John Smith who graduated from Grade 12 in 1986, his picture is on page 96 of the 85-86 yearbook. We believe this is the owner of the ring.

The ring was found in the Ottawa arboretum.

Searching for "John Smith" on the web is an excercise in frustration for obvious reasons. Does anyone know John Smith or where he is today? Please call me, or have John call me, my number is on the website.

John - we have your ring and will keep it for you! Please note that we will only give the ring back to John Smith - so be prepared to prove you are him (a pic will do!)

Thanks to Kim Ouellette, John Smith contacted me on June 21, and he picked up his lost ring on June 22, 2007 at 4:00pm from Brent Smyth, our Decade room prime. John is very pleased to have his ring back - and we will be contacted the person who turned it in to thank them!
